Erica teaches Piano Lessons in Palo Alto to children 5 and up and adults.  Piano lessons range from 30 to 60 minutes once a week depending on the student’s age, abilities and goals.  During each lesson a new concept is taught and the student is assigned complementary exercises, pieces and written homework in order to solidify the musical or technical concept.  At the following lesson the student is expected to have practiced the exercises and pieces and to have completed their written assignments. In addition to music theory and technique, Erica helps the student develop his or her performance skills through preparation of pieces for student recitals, which are held twice a year.  Students can learn pieces in any genre including pop, rap, dance, kids songs, musical and movie songs, classical and standards.

Erica is launching a baby and toddler music class for children ages 6 months - 18 months and 18 months to 3 years old.  These classes will be held outdoors at a park in Palo Alto, California

Education

Erica received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Arts from the prestigious University of Southern California Thornton School of Music in 2007. While on campus Erica participated in the USC Concert Choir and Chamber Choir and performed in the USC Opera productions, Musical Theater productions through the drama department and the Opera scenes program. 

Professional Teaching Experience

Erica has been teaching private music lessons since 2006.  Erica's studio currently boasts an enrollment of over 28 piano and voice students.  Erica organized two recitals a year for her Piano and Voice students.   Erica adapts her teaching methods to accommodate each students individual learning style.

Erica is excited to teach again in person now that she is vaccinated against COVID-19 but is happy that video technology (Zoom) has allowed her to now reach students globally including continuing her students who have moved away from the San Francisco Bay Area to Seattle, WA and Dehli, India.
